If you’ve been using your http://www.satellitestarinternet.com/ internet to plan the trip of a lifetime to Thailand you’ve likely been concentrating on what hotels to stay in and what sights not to missbut what about the food? Whether you’re timid or ready to experience all the culture has to offer, here are a few of our favorite picks:
Pad Thai: If you need to start off slowly, this is your best bet. Be prepared for everything in Thailand much spicier than in the states and order it meat free if you’re in a questionable area. There are lots of variations on this classic dish so you could eat it every day and not get bored.
Panaeng: If curries are more your jam, try this culinary classic. It’s typically some type of meat sauted and stewed in a curry coconut broth but it’s often accompanied by a kick so watch out!
Mango Sticky Rice: The great thing about Thailand is that it’s always warm enough to grow mangoes! Coconut sweetened rice and fresh mango are the perfect cool-off after a spicy traditional meal.

Two hundred years ago Bangkok, Thailand was only a seaport on the Chao Phraya River., but now is recognized as one of the most spectacular tourist meccas in the world with everything from ancient temples and palaces to unique shops and an underwater aquarium.

The Grand Palace & Wat Prakeaw was built in 1792 as the residence of King of Thailand. One of many outstanding features is a 15th century Budda created from a gargantuan emerald. Today the palace is used for special ceremonies.

A 1700s influx of immigrants from China gave rise to Bangkok’s Cninatown. Guests will enjoy visiting gold trading and Chinese medicine shops. Special events during the year are the very colorful and high-spirited Chinese New Year parade. Another interesting event is the annual Vegetarian Festival.

The Chao Phraya River is home to a floating market where vendors in wooden boats offer fresh produce and flowers for sale. Tourists are encouraged to sample fresh cocoanut juice.

A definite must-do is a visit to Siam Ocean World to see eels, spider crabs, water rats and sharks. Two travel options are by glass bottom boat or to don a special diving suit and helmet for an even closer look.

Thailand, the nation that loves to celebrate, is prominent because of its love for festivals. Visiting Thailand is a super treat for any tourist, to say the least. If it seems as if a festival is being celebrated every other week during each month, good news, it is — from the Songkran Festival to the Sweet Passion Fruit Festival, every festival held in Thailand will surpass tourists’ expectations.

Thailand offers some the most delicious culinary experiences, from thai noodles to exotic spice filled soups and concoctions. The food is varied from tropical delights to dishes that utilize rice and noodles. Of course it may be difficult to find “pad thai” anywhere in the country, which is why you should visit Thailand with an open mind to exploring the wonders of their culinary delights.

Thai cooking classes can teach you everything that you need to know about preparing authentic and delicious Thai cuisine once you return from vacation. Take the whole family and explore the flavors of ginger, coconut milk, lemongrass, sweet chili sauces, and spicy pepper powders. Many Thai dishes are vegetarian friendly, but there are also plenty that contain fish and other meats.

You can expect most dishes to involve rice and spices. Thai food incorporates these spices because they are good for the body and make everything taste much better. Tropical fruits are also popular here. Fried bananas and sweet potato pudding are popular desserts that you can learn in a Thai cooking class to take back home with you.

Part of attending classes while you travel is about supporting the local communities. You will help women provide for their family while enjoying amazing cuisine on vacation!
